In Japan, both land use and buildings rarely continue for 100 years. First
Service School of JMSDF(*1) is valuable place which has the same atmosphere
of old times. Before WWII it was known as big three naval academies in
the world(*2).

Japanese Imperial Navy followed the example of British Navy.
British architect John DIACK designed this building and he used bricks
made in UK.

The building itself is good, but the celebration of famous war heroes makes me feel something is wrong.
[footnotes]
(*1) Japan Maritime Self Defence Force. It have had no war ever since its
establishment. I think it is honorable record.
(*2) Annapolis (US), Dartmouth (UK) and Etajima (Japan)
(*3) Most famous battleship in Japan before Yamato was constructed.
[how to see them]
The only way you can see buildings is to attend the guide tour. If
fewer than 20 people, you don't have to book.
You have to write your name and address at the gate by the time (weekday
: 10:00, 12:30, 14:30, holiday : 9:30, 10:30, 12:30, 14:30).
