This stands on the road connecting the city center and Ujina Port. At Ujina, the Arc of Triumph modeled after the original in Paris was temporarily built to greet soldiers coming back from battle fronts of the Sino-Japanese war. Later in 1896, this monument was erected. After WW‡Uin 1947, it was renamed to Peace Tower not to fall into disfavor of the occupation forces.
