| Kusatsu is on the western outskirts of the Hiroshima delta, where a group of pre-modern buildings still stand. Only in the area of photo#1, however, a substantial number of them remain. The local community is now beginning to understand the value of the townscape but it might after all be engulfed by the surge of development. |
