This garden used to belong to the ASANO clan who ruled Hiroshima during
the Edo period. UEDA Sohko, a famous tea master designed the garden. Most
of the trees and structures in the garden were lost at the time of the
A-bombing and restored after WWU.
It's a circular style garden, typical during the Edo period. It's much
smaller than large gardens like Kenroku-en in Kanazawa or Koraku-en in
Okayama, but still interesting to watch. |
