This garden used to belong to the ASANO clan who ruled Hiroshima during the Edo period. UEDA Sohko, a famous tea master designed the garden. Most of the trees and structures in the garden were lost at the time of the A-bombing and restored after WW‡U.

It's a circular style garden, typical during the Edo period. It's much smaller than large gardens like Kenroku-en in Kanazawa or Koraku-en in Okayama, but still interesting to watch.
