This contemporary art museum stands on a hill called Hijiyama. The exterior is designed after European peristyle and Japanese traditional storehouse. Through the entrance comes a circular cloister: the picturesque whitish space with proper tension and openness. The complex is made low enough not to disturb the ridge lines of Hijiyama.

[Access]
[TRAM] 10 minutes on foot from Hiroden Hijiyama-shita tram stop. Part of the upslope is steep.
[BUS] Take a bus bound for Danbara-chuo-keiyu, Daigaku-byoin-yuki, and get off at Danbara-chuo bus stop. 8 minutes on foot. Use a public escalator from Hiroshima Saty shopping complex.
Taking a taxi from Hiroshima Station is another good option.
