This temple was closely related to the ASANO clan, the ruler of Hiroshima during the Edo period. It stands fairly away from the center of the city but couldn't escape the intense blast at the time of the A-bombing, and its roofs and walls fell. Since all the Buddhist temples in the center of Hiroshima were annihilated at the A-bombing, remaining Fudo-in and Kokuzen-ji are very precious and excellent architecture examples.
